Quick Link: Why had England lost its Medieval taste for violence.

An interesting article that trys to describe the changes in society and accepted behavior around violence and murder. Not strictly related to swords, I felt that it was an interesting companion the art of defense. Certainly there are legal and moral considerations that occasionally crop up in the manuals. For example, there are several manuals who implore the reader to not take the book and then seek violence amongst his family or neighbors. There are several who suggest applicable targets (the English really didn't like the French, or at times, the Italians and Germans).

Regardless, I thought this was worth the short read
